Farm Market

Trade between farms · Economy

Early developmentFS25_FarmMarket

The game gives a farm no proper way to sell what it produces to another farm; the deal is either built on trust or it never happens. Farm Market turns it into a purchase the server verifies. From the production menu the factory owner lists an output for sale, sets the price as a share of the market price, keeps a stock reserve and can cap how much a single buyer farm takes per day. The same menu also posts buy offers for inputs: the owner sets the price, an amount cap and a budget cap, and whoever delivers is paid per liter on the spot. Every open listing shows up on the Market page in the ESC menu and is marked on the map. Early development: 1.9.0.0, with the watchlist, statistics and price history, runs on our main server.

Status: Early development. The mod is being tested on our own server; the feature list describes the goal and the released version may differ.

Features

What it does

  • Prices follow the market: a listing stores a share of the market price (for example 300 percent), moves with the market, refreshes every 30 seconds and locks to the current market at each purchase. The server applies a floor and a cap (25 to 400 percent by default).
  • A closed listing keeps its settings: reopened, its percentage, reserve and caps come back instead of starting over from the market price. The market window shows the percentage first.
  • Stock reserve and a daily limit per buyer farm: the seller never sells what they set aside, and no single farm can sweep the whole production.
  • For trailer products loading starts on its own at the factory's loading point and only the loaded liters are charged.
  • Pallet products such as flour, cheese and coffee spawn in the factory's pallet area owned by the buyer and are charged one by one.
  • Buy offers: a factory posts a price, an amount cap and a budget cap for an input; whoever delivers unloads from a trailer or pallet, is paid per liter on the spot, and the offer closes itself when a cap is reached.
  • A Market page in the ESC menu, laid out the game's own way as a full-width sortable table: sale and buy listings with product, factory, seller, price, stock and distance, with products grouped by icon and listing count. Show on map switches to the map, where listed factories carry a marker.
  • Buy points are marked on the map and in the world: where buyers pick up the goods (the loading point or the factory's interaction point) the game's shop icon sits on the map and the shopping marker in the world; buy orders show the unloading icon at the delivery point. Only other farms see these markers. Show on map sets the buy point as your map target and moves the map there.
  • A versus-market column compares each listing's price with the game's market price in colour, and the detail panel on the right highlights the price or the amount paid.
  • Watchlist: watch a product with an optional price limit and get a notice when a matching listing or buy order appears (Watch on a listing, or Market > Watchlist).
  • Statistics tab: trades, volume, turnover and average prices per product; sales and purchases per farm (the server admin sees every farm).
  • Price history: listings, buy orders and the owner window show the average and range of the last 10 trades.
  • The invoice window uses the game's own window frame: a heading with a PAID badge, an itemised line with the product icon, and the unit price in euros per thousand litres.
  • In the factory's market window every option has a title and a one-line explanation, and a status strip shows market price, stock, delivery and your listing in four boxes.
  • An At market output mode in the production menu: the product stays in storage, is not turned into pallets and is not sold directly, only offered on the market.
  • The balance never goes negative: the amount is capped by your money, the seller's reserve and the daily limit.
  • Listings are removed when a factory changes hands or leaves the map. Every completed purchase gets an automatic numbered invoice (for example PZR-021-00035: prefix, in-game day, sequence number). Invoices are listed on the Invoices tab of the Market page with columns for number, parties, product, amount, total and time, and a count and total for each day.
  • A Market tab under Settings for the admin: open or close the market, server fee, buyer debt, price limits, invoicing and whether invoices are sent to Discord.
  • Console commands are off by default and can be switched on in the settings file if needed.
  • With Discord Bridge installed, listings, purchases, deliveries and invoices are sent to Discord and to the web dashboard.
  • Invoices are archived to a CSV file in the settings folder, are not affected by the ledger's 500-row limit and are written to the savegame as well.
  • An output storage boost on the server side: each production point's output storage can be grown one to ten times, so stock held back for the market does not stall production. Input storage is untouched.
  • Pallet storage listings (with the Pallet Storage mod): offer the pallets in your storage for sale; the buyer collects at the dock or loads the goods straight into a Pallet Cargo vehicle. The purchase window, invoices and ledger gain the delivery types Dock (pallet) and Pallet Cargo.
  • Pallet storage buy offers: price, amount and budget are set per pallet product just like at factories; the seller delivers at the dock with Pallet Cargo, is paid per litre, and the delivery goes into the ledger with an invoice. When the storage changes hands the previous owner's buy offers are removed.
  • Market notifications appear in each player's own language: pallet area or dock full, a buy offer filled or closed, a price pulled to the server limit, a listing rejected.
  • Buying pallets from a factory takes up to 20 pallets at once; if the limit stops a purchase, the buyer is told to buy the rest again.

Works with

With our other mods

Works on its own. With these mods also installed, you get the following:

  • Discord Bridge v1.6.1.0 · Released

Listings, purchases, deliveries and invoices go to Discord. The bridge's web panel gets a Player market tab with open listings, recent trades and a searchable invoice ledger.

  • Pallet Storage v1.15.0.0 · Early development

Pallets in a storage can be listed on the market; the buyer collects the goods as pallets at the storage's dock.

  • Pallet Cargo Semi-Trailer v1.17.0.0 · Early developmentPallet Cargo Trailer v1.17.0.0 · Early development

Together with Pallet Storage: a buyer can load goods bought from a storage straight into a Pallet Cargo body instead of taking pallets. Storage buy orders are filled with Pallet Cargo at the dock and paid per litre.

Setup

How to use it

  1. Not released yet. The mod runs on our main server and the buy offers are being tested; follow progress on our Discord.
  2. On release the zip goes into the mods folder of the server and of every connecting player.
  3. Listings are posted from the production menu, buying happens next to the factory and browsing on the Market page in the ESC menu. No key binding needed.
